How does payment work?

Argus uses the x402 protocol. Call /intelligence, receive a 402 response with payment details, send $1 USDC to the provided Base address, then retry your request with the X-Payment header. The whole flow takes seconds.

Do I need an account or API key?

No. Payment is the only authentication. Any wallet or x402-compatible agent can call the API without creating an account.

What network and asset are accepted?

USDC on Base (Coinbase's L2). Transactions settle in seconds and cost fractions of a cent in gas.

Are free endpoints really free?

Yes. /health, /feed, /sources, and /categories are completely free with no rate limits. Only /intelligence requires payment.
